Job Summary

**Incumbent can work from one of the following offices in the AgCountry footprint: Fargo, Grand Forks, Jamestown or Minot in North Dakota.**

We are seeking a Consumer LendingOfficerspecializing in purchase, refinance, constructionloansand all consumer loans for our organization.Responsible formarketingthe consumer lending product and building strong working relationships with business contacts. Provide knowledge of the consumer marketplace, availableproductsand finance to fully understand the applicant(s) current and future needs and financial position to present the options that best meet their needs.You willberesponsiblefororiginating credit to his/her customers by assessing the request and obtaining business and financial information needed todeterminethe viability and profitability of the deal.You will be asked to lead thecustomer relationship and oftencoordinatewith others to serve thecustomersloan, lease, cropinsurance,and servicing needs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

SALES and RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT:Develop andmaintaina professional presence and use effective sales and relational strategies to increase the Associations consumer market share in the assigned territory. This includes:

  • Engagement in marketing and promotional activities throughout the assigned territory to support sales goals;maintainprofessional relationships withappropriate influencergroups, home mortgageprofessionalsand organizations.
  • Determineand define theappropriate customerinteraction andcoordinatetheappropriatesupportofresources that may directly or indirectly provide service to the applicant(s).Effectively communicatewiththe applicant(s)andappropriate teammembersregardingthe request.
  • Introduce applicant(s) to teammate(s) who will support the process.
  • Actively engage with support team membersincluding daily processing and servicing of creditandparticipatingin training, development and relationship building activities.

DELIVER SOUND CREDIT:In support of originating credit requests, the officer will:

  • Gather and document customer financial information and application details, in compliance with consumer lending requirements and in coordination withappropriate teammembers.
  • Assistcustomersin preparingan accuratelist of assets and liabilities toestablishcurrent balancesheetsas needed.
  • Interpret and evaluate financial information and ask probing questions todeterminetheappropriate productor serviceneedsof the applicant(s).
  • Recommend loan terms, conditions, collateral position consistent with the request and associated loan risks and set clear expectations with the applicant(s).
  • Communicate credit decisions, loantermsand conditions to the customer; resell deal as needed if terms change.
  • Coach and counsel customers to meet future financial goals.

SERVICE PORTFOLIO:Provide the following on-going service and support:

  • Provide oversight and monitoring of construction projects; coach and counsel when cost overruns apply.
  • Review property inspections according to procedures.

Travel Time

  • Percentage of time required to travel during the day - 50%
  • Percentage of time required to travel overnight - 15%

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, Real Estate, Business, Finance or Economicsor related field is preferred

Years of Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred in Real Estate, Business, or Finance.

Certification and Technical Requirements

  • Registered with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) or the ability to do so within 30 days of employment.
  • Proficient in currently technology.
