Partner and collaborate with management in designing, planning and implementing benefit programs, policies and procedures. Regularly monitor external trends to proactively recommend new and/or improved group benefit plans and cost-saving measures. Ensure programs meet customer needs, comply with legal requirements and are competitive and cost effective. Coordinate and manage day-to-day activities within the benefits and wellbeing division. Serve as a liaison with the vendors for all Health and Welfare programs such as self-insured medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, life and disability, wellbeing, and EAP to ensure optimal productivity and performance expectations - programs are set up and administered as expected and participants receive the best level of service. Manage employees in functions of researching, analyzing, evaluating, designing, and administering group benefit, and wellbeing programs covering group life, health insurance, retirement, income continuation, leave of absence, wellness, and other benefit programs. Implement benefit programs, policies, and procedures. Manage the archival and retrieval of benefit, and wellbeing records and documents. Evaluate and improve the structure, processes, and tools within the benefits function for optimal efficiency and effectiveness. Serve as a point of escalation for questions on eligibility, coverage, and other benefit matters. Monitor plans to ensure compliance with federal and state laws including FMLA, HIPAA, ERISA, COBRA, and Healthcare Reform.
Required Qualifications: Manager Benefits and Wellbeing
* Minimum of five years of benefits and wellbeing experience required.
* Minimum of three years of leadership experience required.
* Bachelor's degree in business, human resources or related field required. 8+ years of additional progressive experience in benefits may be commensurate with bachelor's degree.
* Independent problem-solving skills, management of multiple concurrent tasks, and outstanding verbal and written communication skills required.
* Excellent organizational and customer service skills required.
* Previous experience with a human resource information system required.
* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
* Demonstrated skill and ability to perform benefit cost analysis required.
Preferred Qualifications: Manager Benefits and Wellbeing
* Benefit plan management and wellbeing management experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
* Master's degree preferred.
